Honors Contract

As an honors student at Pima, you can earn honors credit for regular courses. All you need is an honors contract and the ability to add an extra project to your course load.

With an honors contract, you can do an additional project in most P100-level or higher courses for honors credit. Examples of projects include:

  • Experiments
  • Recitals or performances
  • Research papers
  • Creating original art, such as a musical composition, sculpture, or script

Honors contract projects add at least five hours of work per credit of the course. For example, a 3-credit course would involve 15 hours of additional work.

How to get an honors contract

You can apply for an honors contract by completing these steps:

  • Successfully complete HON 101 with a grade of B or higher
  • Meet with a Campus Honors Program Coordinator
  • Meet with your instructor to fill out the honors contract form
  • Return the form to your Honors Coordinator by the end of the third week of class.

Your Honors Coordinator will sign the contract or work with you to revise it. You will also need your coordinator’s signature at the completion of the course. You may only take two Honors Contract courses per semester.

The first step is joining the honors program. View the requirements and join today.
