Pima’s marketing is evolving — we’re putting real students front and center to showcase their unique Pima journeys and let their voices shine. Know a student or alum who’d be a great fit? October Is National Retirement Security Month
This is a great time to check your retirement savings and review your goals (or set new ones).

• Visit our vendor resources to learn more about saving for retirement (Corebridge/Valic, Fidelity, Nationwide, TIAA).
• Open a new account with one of the vendors listed above and start payroll deductions. 
• Meet with a financial advisor for one of our vendors (Corebridge/Valic, Fidelity, Nationwide, TIAA). 
• Login to your existing account(s) to review your investments, account balance(s) and/or update your beneficiaries.
• Increase your contributions through your MyPima, Employee Self Service Dashboard.

Faculty, Staff and Student Volunteers Needed for Arizona STEM Adventure Nov. 21
Volunteers are needed for the Arizona STEM Adventure, 7:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Nov. 21. Please sign up by Nov. 7.

Approximately 1,000 fourth to eighthth-grade students will attend and be engaged in hands-on science and engineering activities. Volunteers assist with parking, exhibitors, providing directions, setup and cleanup.

Sig up as an Arizona STEM Adventure Volunteer by Nov. 7. Scroll to the bottom of the page for the sign-up form.

Downtown Campus Library Book Sale Oct. 14-16
The Downtown Campus Library hosts its annual book sale in the Amethyst Room on the following dates and times:

• Oct. 14, 1-6 p.m.
• Oct. 15, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
• Oct. 16, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

Browse deselected library books, media and donated materials from the community. Most items are $1-$2. Call 520-206-7267 for more information.

Northwest Campus Library Fall Book Sale
Northwest Campus Library is having its fall book sale, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., daily, Oct. 21-23, in the Student Life Center, D201.

21-day Comment Period for AERC Proposed Employee Handbook Revisions
Based on employee input, the All Employee Representative Council (AERC) proposes these revisions to the College’s Employee Handbook.

• Short-Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD) Insurance
• Sick Leave 

The revised policies are available for a 21-day comment period through the Employee Page in MyPima. Employees are encouraged to provide feedback via this Feedback Form, linked in the “Draft to Review” section.

Fall Student Welcome – Showcase Your Program! 
Pima First Year Experience (FYE) hosts Fall Student Welcome, 5:30-8 p.m., Oct. 24, on the mall at Downtown Campus. This exciting, reimagined event is designed to help students connect with resources, explore career pathways and engage in hands-on learning. Faculty, staff and department representatives are encouraged to sign up to lead short, interactive activities or demonstrations highlighting their subject area. Sign up to be a Fall Student Welcome table host by Oct. 14. Or, sign up to volunteer to help with various tasks before, during and after the event.

AI Community of Practice & Play Meeting Oct. 21
Join a “book club” discussion about big AI questions. Check the AI-Community Google chat space for a selection of articles to support conversations touching on ethics, environment and efficacy. Breakouts will be available to accommodate topics of greatest interest.

Join any meeting via this Zoom link. Find meeting dates and other information on the AICPP page in the ai@pima area of MyPima. You can ask a question, browse content or post something in the AI-Community Google chat space.

Reminder: Additional Location Visit Reporting Form
For all 2025-2026 site visits to additional locations, please use the Additional Location Visit Reporting Form. This centralized documentation is crucial for tracking visits made by Pima staff, administrators and faculty, and it serves as supporting evidence for the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).

Register Today for the PimaOnline Educator’s Conference
Register today for the sixth annual PimaOnline Educator’s Conference. This year, the conference is Oct. 29-31. This year’s program features a welcome from PCC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Nasse, inspiring keynotes, a dynamic student panel and many sessions by local educators and staff. It will be capped off with a lively Closing Celebration and Halloween Party. Last year, POEC24 welcomed 352 attendees.

Proposals Now Due Oct. 27 for Emerging Leaders Student Summit Nov. 14
PCC Student Life is seeking workshop proposals for the Fall 2025 Emerging Leaders Student Summit at West Campus. The event date has been changed to Nov. 14, with a new proposal submission deadline of Oct. 27. Selected workshops will be announced Oct. 30. Topics may include time management, communication, goal setting, group dynamics, health and wellness, and change management. Submit your proposal using the Emerging Leaders Fall 2025 Workshop Proposal Google form.

The new StAR Committee and Working Group Archive is now available to all Pima employees. 2025 Asset Inventory Deadline Nov. 26
The 2025 Asset Inventory must be completed by Nov. 26 — inventory is not considered complete until submitted in Banner > Inventory Self-Service.

Training for Federal Work Study Supervisors and Potential Supervisors
The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships hosts spring FWS supervisor training through October. If you are interested in joining this virtual training, sign up now for FWS Supervisor Training (FY26). 

Get Your 2026-2027 Sabbatical Proposal Ready
Full-time faculty members, the deadline for your 2026-2027 sabbatical proposal is Oct. 20. The Sabbatical Program offers eligible full-time faculty the opportunity for extended professional development that benefits students, colleagues, the College and the community. You can apply for your first one-semester (six-month) full-pay or half-pay sabbatical after completing five consecutive academic or fiscal years of full-time service at the College.
