Prerequisite courses

While browsing our class schedule or course catalog, you will notice that some courses have prerequisites. These are courses you must take before advancing to a higher-level course. 

If you are already enrolled at Pima, you can register for prerequisites now. If not, apply online today.

Class restrictions

Before registering for a course, you must complete all of the course’s prerequisites. Spanish language courses (SPA) are the only exception to this rule.

Most students will need to take an assessment test before registering for math, reading, writing, or English as a Second Language (ESL) courses. Visit the Placement Testing page to learn more.
