Chancellor Jeffrey P. Nasse's Message, First 100 Days - Listening, Learning, Leading
Pima Community College Campus

First 100 Days - Listening, Learning, Leading

Dear students, faculty, staff, Governing Board, donors and community partners,

I am tremendously honored to serve you as Pima Community College's Chancellor. I undertake this opportunity teeming with excitement and filled with a profound sense of responsibility. As we embark on this journey together, I would like to offer my plans for the first 100 days of our work here together.

The main goal of my first 100 days is to engage you in a structured process of listening and learning that helps me understand PCC’s strengths as well as any opportunities for improvement. To that end, I am embarking on a “Listening and Learning” series that will engage students, faculty, staff, the Governing Board, and community partners in an active and collaborative dialogue on the overall direction of the college. This process starts today – day one – when I meet with students at our Downtown Campus. Over the next 99 days, I look forward to meeting with you at multiple “Listening and Learning” sessions that will be held on each of our campuses and across our dynamic community. We will announce a detailed calendar of these sessions in the coming days.

My leadership approach is guided by the general principle that the success of our students must be the driving factor for every decision we make at Pima Community College. I believe this means maintaining a focused commitment to service excellence throughout the student experience – from prospective student to graduate to alumni. I want to express my sincerest gratitude to our Board Chair, Theresa Riel and the entire Governing Board, faculty, staff, students and a host of community members who have provided such a warm Tucson welcome and support as I transitioned into this position.

And, I would especially like to recognize the great work of Dr. Dolores Duran-Cerda for her outstanding service as interim chancellor and all her support in bringing me onboard. Pima Community College has always been a catalyst of opportunity for our students and our greater Tucson community, and I am so incredibly proud to join such an inspired team. It is truly a privilege to work alongside you as colleagues and an honor to serve as your Chancellor.

Sincerely,

Jeffrey P. Nasse, Ph. D.
Chancellor, Pima Community College
