Volunteers Needed at the Scholarship Fairs
The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships is looking for volunteers to help with upcoming Scholarship Fairs. Volunteers can earn two Pima Healthy Rewards points for participating.

Marketing and AI Usage Policy
With the growing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to create marketing materials, the College Marketing and Media Production offices are developing guidelines for its appropriate use.

Before creating flyers or other marketing materials, please consult with your marketing coordinator. They can assist with meeting your marketing needs in a way that maintains authenticity, meets ADA requirements and aligns with the College’s brand identity standards.

FY 2027 Staff Professional Development Fund Application Now Open
The application period for the Fiscal Year 2027 Staff Professional Development (SPD) Fund is open and applications are currently being reviewed.  

Eligible regular full-time nonexempt and exempt staff (director level and below) may apply using the FY27 application. Faculty and adjunct faculty should contact their division for information about Faculty Professional Development funding.

To help ensure equitable access to limited funding, no more than two employees from the same department may use SPD funds to attend the same conference or training. This allows more employees across the College to benefit from professional development opportunities. Before submitting your application, discuss it with your supervisor. Your supervisor must email their approval to pcc-staffprofessionaldevelopment@pima.edu before your application can be reviewed. The FY27 application, eligibility requirements, guidelines and policies are available on the Organizational Effectiveness & Development page on MyPima, in the Employee section under Human Resources. If you have questions, email pcc-staffprofessionaldevelopment@pima.edu.

PimaOnline Educators’ Conference 2026: Submit Your Proposal by Sept. 21
The PimaOnline Educators’ Conference 2026 (POEC26), Oct. 28-30, explores the theme Teaching Across the Multiverse and how higher education is changing in many ways, often all at once.

Faculty, staff and students are invited to share ideas, practices and experiences related to teaching and learning. Topics may include College initiatives such as accessibility requirements, the transition to eight-week courses, student success, teaching strategies, learning practices and more.

Have an idea for a presentation? Submit your proposal by Sept. 21. Need help coming up with a topic? Book an appointment with POEC26 Project Manager Adam Baldry for help brainstorming presentation ideas. Learn more about POEC26 here.

2026 Property Control Inventory: Complete by Oct. 31
The 2026 Asset Inventory process is now underway and must be completed by Oct. 31. Employees who completed the inventory process in 2025 will not need to complete another inventory until 2027. Thank you to those who have already completed or are currently completing their inventory.

Your inventory process is not complete until it has been submitted through the Inventory Self-Service module in Banner. Instructions are available on MyPima by searching Property Control and selecting Inventory Self Service Job Aid under Self Service Inventory.

Completing the inventory helps ensure the College maintains accurate asset records, meets audit requirements and complies with established policies and procedures. Failure to complete the inventory process may result in audit findings and could impact the College’s standing with the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).

Join the JD Club
Do you have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree? The Office of the General Counsel invites you to join the JD Club, an informal network for faculty and staff who want to share ideas and use their legal education to support PCC students and the College community.

The group may explore topics such as student mentorship, policy development, discussion panels, training opportunities and volunteer roles in the College’s due process proceedings.

If you are interested in connecting with fellow PCC JDs and using your legal knowledge to support the College, join us virtually for an initial organizational meeting at 4 p.m., Sept. 24.

Help Students Get Their Résumés Career Ready
September is Pima Résumé Month. The Employer Engagement and Career Services (EECS) team is celebrating with a college-wide virtual event 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Sept. 30. 

Employees are encouraged to share this event with students who may benefit from career support. It’s a great opportunity for students to update their résumés and prepare for internships, jobs and future career opportunities. Learn more here.

Pima’s AI Community of Practice & Play Returns This Fall
Pima’s AI Community of Practice & Play (AICPP) will begin meeting for the 2026-27 academic year the week of Sept. 14. The meeting day and time will be based on employee feedback. Please take a moment to complete this survey and share your preferred meeting times and areas of interest.

New to AI? All faculty and staff are encouraged to drop by an AICPP meeting for friendly support and conversation. You also can explore the Introduction to AI at Pima self-paced D2L course to learn the basics. For more information, visit the ai@pima pages on MyPima.

2027-2028 Sabbatical Proposals: Submit by Oct. 19
Full-time faculty members, the deadline to submit sabbatical proposals for the 2027-2028 academic year is Oct. 19. The Sabbatical Program provides eligible full-time faculty with an opportunity for extended professional development that benefits students, colleagues, the College and the community. You may apply for your first one-semester (six-month) sabbatical at full or half pay after completing five consecutive academic or fiscal years of full-time service at the College.

Media Production Extends Turnaround Times
The College’s Media Production team is currently managing a high volume of requests during a period of staffing transition. As a result, turnaround times for new projects may be longer than usual, typically three weeks or more.

The team will make every effort to accommodate time-sensitive needs; however, expedited or rush requests cannot be guaranteed at this time. To help ensure the best possible support, we encourage you to submit detailed project requests as early as possible when planning upcoming work with specific deadlines.

StudentLinc Offers 24/7 Support for Student Well-Being
The College has launched StudentLinc, a new support service provided by CuraLinc Healthcare. Available 24/7/365, StudentLinc offers students and their families free, confidential counseling, emotional support and digital well-being resources. Federal Work Study Position Request Period Open
If you want to hire a Federal Work Study student employee for your department for 2026-2027, submit your request here.

Cababi editor and Writing faculty member Molly McCloy won the Book Pipeline Award and Quill Prose Award for her memoir, “Nine Grudges: The Spiteful Origins of the Happiest Dyke on Earth,” published this week by Red Hen Press.

Join McCloy for a book party at 7 p.m., Sept. 10 or Sept. 17, at Motosonora Brewery, 1015 S. Park Ave. Antigone Books will have copies available for purchase. The events will feature music by Sophia Perkins, emcee David Fitzsimmons, a reading, book signing and book cover look-alike contests.
