Deadline Extended for Cababi Art & Literary Magazine Submissions
The deadline to make submissions for the 2025-2026 issue of Cababi Art & Literary Magazine is extended to Jan. 25. Cababi is the official Pima publication that features art, literature and special projects by full-time and part-time faculty, staff and administrators. Cababi accepts submissions in fiction, nonfiction, poetry, all visual arts and live performances.

Sign up for First In-person Webl Session Jan. 27
New in-person Web Intelligence Interactive reports trainings are available through Organizational Effectiveness and Development: 

  • Log into MyPima/My Career Center
  • Search for the training
  • Click “Request” to the right of the session you want to attend

New Communities of Practice for Supervisors Forming
Human Resources is organizing a cohort of approximately 15 supervisors to share their past and current leadership challenges and explore possible solutions.

This new Communities of Practice for Supervisors will meet virtually each month to encourage reflection on areas of opportunity, strengthening of leadership skills and exploration of new approaches to resolving challenges. You must have your camera and microphone on and active engagement is expected.

Supervisors who are interested should email employeerelations@pima.edu by Jan. 29. Please share your preferred day to meet and whether morning or afternoon is best.

Nominations Open for Student Employee of the Year
Nominations for the College’s best student workers are being accepted through Jan. 30. This is a great opportunity to highlight the amazing work your student employee does and to show your appreciation. All student employees across the College are eligible for nomination on this form.

Revised Academic Integrity Code, Guide Available Now
The revised Academic Integrity Code has now been posted following revision, review and feedback from fall 2024 through fall 2025. A Faculty Guide to the Pima Academic Integrity Code also is available. Check the Teaching and Learning Center Calendar for information sessions to learn more about the Code and email academic-integrity@pima.edu with any questions.

Faculty Can Get Guidance to Help Students with Gemini, NotebookLM
Now that Gemini and NotebookLM are live for students in the Pima Google Workspace for Education, including Student Guide to AI page in MyPima and AI Navigation Sessions for peer support, faculty are encouraged to find virtual drop-in sessions for guidance by adding the Teaching and Learning Center Calendar to your Google Calendar. 

Other resources include Plagiarism + AI Traffic School modules for D2L import and Faculty FAQs, ai@pima page in MyPima, AI Community of Practice & Play events and AI-Community Google chat. To learn more, contact pcc-ai@pima.edu or Josie Milliken, Ph.D., jlmilliken@pima.edu.

Fitness and Wellness Program Has Employee Options
The College’s Fitness and Wellness Program suggests these classes for employees:

  • 14-week term group fitness classes (FAW100F1 & F2) begin Feb. 2.
  • Access Pima’s Fitness Centers – at Desert Vista and West campuses – and get a personal training and body composition test in FAW110F1.
  • Any Pima student taking one or more credits can use the Pima Fitness Pass for free access to the two campus fitness centers.

Obituary: Timothy Kelliher
Timothy Kelliher, a former staff member at Pima’s Downtown Campus, passed away on Oct. 18, 2025. He was 70. He joined Pima in 1996 as a lab specialist and adjunct faculty in Building and Construction Technologies and taught and mentored many students, sharing his deep knowledge, craftsmanship and love of building. He also was active in Staff Council and helped many military veterans transition into rewarding civilian careers. He retired from Pima in 2015.

SATEC Events Open to College and Community
These Southern Arizona Technology and Entrepreneurship Center events are open to the entire Pima community.

  • Jan. 27, 3:30-5 p.m.: AI Insights to Marketing ROI with Jennifer Yamnitz, hands-on workshop on using AI tools to create hyper-specific customer profiles and reduce marketing research time 90%. Tickets: $50, general admission; $10, PCC students.
  • Jan. 28-March 25, Wednesdays, 4:30-7:30 p.m.: Veterans & Military Families: Start or Grow Your Business with STRIVE, free eight-week entrepreneurship program, with veteran business leaders giving expert instruction, ongoing mentorship and networking opportunities.
  • Feb. 5, 3:30-5 p.m.: SATEC Fireside Chat: A Direct Expert Entrepreneur Exchange with Greg Moyer, offering insights into and real-world perspectives on creative problem-solving, sharing proven frameworks for rising above the noise. RSVP here.

30th Annual Golf Tourney Is May 30
Mark your calendars for May 30, when the College hosts its 30th Annual Golf Tournament at Skyline Country Club. Enjoy a day on the greens while supporting programs that enrich the student experience. The Community Engagement dashboard is accessible on MyPima. There you can:

  • Learn more about Pima’s collegewide community engagement and the resources available to you.
  • Report your community engagement for posting to the collegewide calendar.
  • Sign up for volunteer opportunities to share your subject-matter expertise.
  • Share your volunteer opportunities and outreach photos.

Attend an Upcoming RTA Next Q&A Session
The Regional Transportation Authority is holding question-and-answer sessions and events detailing its proposed $2.67 billion regional transportation plan that is on the Pima County ballot in March.

The sessions on the RTA Next plan are in-person and virtual. At rtanext.com/events, you can find Q&A session and in-person event details, as well as funding info, fact sheets, maps, charts and the project list.

Employees also are encouraged to visit the Employee Wellness website for additional resources, news and information on the Pima Healthy Rewards Program and wellness-related activities that qualify for Pima Wellness Activity points.
