Understanding Data Workshops Start Sept. 23
The first Beyond the Numbers: Understanding Data to Drive Impact workshop through Organizational Effectiveness and Development (OED) is 1 p.m., Sept. 23. To sign up for a session:

  • Search for the training
  • To the right of the session you want to attend, click “View details” then “Request”

Next AICPP Meeting, Sept. 23
The College’s AI Community of Practice & Play has returned to a share-and-discussion format. Fall semester meetings are on alternate Tuesdays at 2 p.m.

Join any meeting via this Zoom link. Find meeting dates and other information on the AICPP page in the ai@pima area of MyPima. You can ask a question, browse content or post something in the AI-Community Google chat space.

Star Party, Sept. 27 at East Campus
Astronomy faculty and Science Division staff will host a star party at the East Campus observatory, 6-9 p.m., Sept. 27. It will start with a Planet Walk at 6 p.m. There will be Moon, Saturn and deep-sky observations starting around 7 p.m. Friends and family are invited.

Employer Engagement and Career Services Events
The Employer Engagement and Career Services (EECS) team is available to support employees as they guide students in connecting their learning to future career success. Check out upcoming events that are open to the entire Pima community:

  • Virtual Office Hours: Drop in during EECS Virtual Office Hours to get help with resumes, job searches, interviewing techniques and more. Open to all students — no appointment needed. Learn more here.
  • Events and Workshops: Stay up-to-date with EECS events through its Google Calendar, where you’ll find campus tabling events, workshops and other opportunities to connect. Subscribe to the calendar or learn more here.
  • AI Workshops: Check out our fall virtual workshops created in partnership with PCC Library and the Communications Division: AI-Enhanced Résumé Lab (recorded session available on the EECS Career Hub); Cover Letters that Connect – 6-7 p.m., Oct. 22; Interview with Confidence – 6-7 p.m., Nov. 12.

CAS Committee Presents Free Screening of ‘Green SuperHeroes’
The College’s Climate Action and Sustainability (CAS) Committee presents a free screening of the documentary “Green SuperHeroes” at 6:30 p.m., Oct. 2, in Room M390 of the Advanced Manufacturing Building (Azurite Room) at Downtown Campus.

The film follows the environmental initiatives of 10 young people from around the world, ages 5-17, as they address climate change, plastics pollution and other environmental problems. The film recently was named Gold Medal winner at the International Green Apple Environment Awards. Watch a trailer here.

For this showing, doors open at 6 p.m. A brief panel discussion will follow the screening. Admission is free.

Sign Up for Supervision in the 21st Century Program
The Office of Organizational Effectiveness and Development (OED) is accepting registrations for the 2025-2026 Supervision in the 21st Century Program, designed for current and aspiring supervisors. The program runs October 2025 through May 2026 and includes coaching sessions, Crucial Conversations for Accountability training, workshops and online modules. Orientation sessions are Oct. 13, 14, 22 and 23. Space is limited to 40 participants; additional sign-ups will be waitlisted. Register by Sept. 26. Participants must inform their supervisors before registering. For questions, contact Dena Wakefield.

Get Your Free Pima Fitness Pass
Anyone enrolled in a Pima course for at least one credit this fall can access Pima’s Fitness Centers at West Campus and Desert Vista Campus for free during the semester. Register now for your fall 2025 Fitness Pass. If you have questions, contact Luis Rivera.

Join PCC’s Annual Scholarship Fair, Nov. 18
The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships invites students, employees and the public to the Annual Scholarship Fair, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Nov. 18, in the Amethyst Room at Downtown Campus. Learn about financial aid and scholarship opportunities, meet with staff and gather resources to support your education. If you have questions or want to volunteer, contact scholarships@pima.edu.

New Dates for Emerging Leaders Summit, Submissions
PCC Student Life is seeking workshop proposals for the Fall 2025 Emerging Leaders Student Summit at West Campus. The event date has been changed to Nov. 14, with a new proposal submission deadline of Oct. 27. Selected workshops will be announced Oct. 30. Topics may include time management, communication, goal setting, group dynamics, health and wellness, and change management. Submit your proposal using the Emerging Leaders Fall 2025 Workshop Proposal Google form.

Get Your $10 Ticket for Tucson Classics Car Show
The Tucson Classics Car Show rolls into The Gregory School on Oct. 18. Enjoy hundreds of classic cars, food, music and family-friendly activities. Purchase your tickets through Pima Foundation to benefit PimaSTART (Success Through Advanced Reskilling & Training). Tickets are $10.

2025 Asset Inventory Deadline, Nov. 26
The 2025 Asset Inventory must be completed by Nov. 26 — inventory is not considered complete until submitted in Banner > Inventory Self-Service.

Training for Federal Work Study Supervisors and Potential Supervisors
The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships hosts spring FWS supervisor training through October. If you are interested in joining this virtual training, sign up now for FWS Supervisor Training (FY26). 

Start Planning Your 2026-2027 Sabbatical Proposal
It’s not too early for full-time faculty members to begin preparing sabbatical proposals for the 2026-2027 academic year. The submission deadline is Oct. 20.

The Sabbatical Program offers eligible full-time faculty the opportunity for extended professional development that benefits students, colleagues, the College and community. Faculty members may apply for their first one-semester (six-month) full-pay or half-pay sabbatical after completing five consecutive academic or fiscal years of full-time service at the College. Employees also are encouraged to visit the Employee Wellness website for additional resources, news and information on the Pima Healthy Rewards Program and wellness-related activities that qualify for Pima Wellness Activity points.
