Enterprise Risk Management

A College-Wide Approach

ERM is how Pima Community College identifies, understands, and responds to risk. ERM consists of a framework of coordinated processes, practices, and resources used to assess and manage risks and associated impacts, both positive and negative, that potentially affect the College’s mission and objectives.

The College’s ERM program is designed to address significant and complex risks that require a comprehensive, cohesive response across varied College functions and operations. Additionally, the College’s ERM program provides insight and consultation to enhance everyday decision-making and planning.

Generating Value

ERM generates value for the College by:
  • Identifying and capitalizing on opportunities that drive learner success and innovation.
  • Proactively identifying and managing enterprise risks and associated impacts.
  • Providing a common set of practices for risk assessment and management across the College.

How ERM Works

ERM enhances communications and collaboration among leadership, faculty, and staff across the College to gain valuable insight supporting decision making, action, and accountability. ERM operates to:

  • Identify Risk: We work with all areas of the College to identify potential enterprise risks.
  • Assess Risk: We work with all areas of the College to analyze and evaluate risks and associated impacts.
  • Respond to Risk: We support the development of risk management strategies and plans to address identified risks.
  • Monitor Risk: We track and report progress and adjust risk management strategies to address evolving conditions and circumstances.

Please review the ERM Guidebook for more information about the College’s ERM program.

College employees are welcome to access additional ERM information and resources at MyPima-ERM.
