Social Services

Available Programs

Pima has a variety of education options if your passion is Social Services. You can pursue either our Social Services Certificate and or Associate of Applied Science degree and enter the workforce. Or, you can follow a Social Services Pathway to a Associate of Arts, Liberal Arts. You’ll gain knowledge, skills and experiences to work in the field and benefit from the program's strong partnerships with state universities.

Social workers help enhance the well-being of children and families, the elderly, people with mental health or substance abuse challenges, and people living in poverty. Completing one of our Social Services programs prepares you to work as a:

  • Behavioral Health Technician
  • Substance Abuse and Behavioral Disorder Counselor
  • Mental Health and Substance Abuse Social Worker
  • Direct Care Supervisor
  • Social Work Case Manager & more

Degrees & Certificates

At Pima, our programs are designed to help you build your skills as you go. Start with foundational certificates and advance to higher-level certificates and a two-year degree, all while gaining the hands-on experience needed for in-demand careers.

In our Social Services Certificate Program, you’ll learn the values and ethics of the social services profession, as well as the skills needed to work effectively with individuals and groups. You will learn the principles of social and economic justice, and will receive instruction in the importance of recognizing diversity in the delivery of social services.
