Important Notice

Effective January 2, 2024, applications for summer semesters will not be accepted. All students must attend a Nursing Information Session

Interested in the Practical Nursing program? Students are required to attend a Nursing program Information Session before seeing a Student Services Center advisor about entering this program. These sessions provide important information about program eligibility, requirements, costs and more.

Before enrolling in this program, you must meet the requirements listed below:

  • Placement into WRT 101 or completion of WRT090 or 096 with a “C” or better
  • Placement into REA 112 or completion of REA 091 with a “C” or better
  • Placement into MAT 142 or MAT 151 or completion of MAT 092 or MAT 097 with a “C” or better
  • TB skin Test - 2 step (Negative results, Negative Chest X-ray or Quantum Gold)
  • Physical Examination

Applying for Program Admission

  • Program requirements must be completed with grades and/or assessment scores posted on PCC transcripts before applying to the program.
  • Once requirements are complete, students can complete the Practical Nursing Program Application. The application process requires documentation of Certified Nursing Assistant or Licensed Nursing Assistant if the candidate is seeking advanced placement in the program Practical Nursing Advanced Placement Application. Completed applications are submitted electronically in one fluid PDF via PCC student email to pcc-pnadmissions@pima.edu.
  • Program information is communicated via PCC student email, it is imperative to check your PCC student email address provided to the Nursing Department.
  • Students not selected for admission are encouraged to re-apply the following application cycle.
