‘The Addams Family - A New Musical’ Opens at Pima in Spanglish and with Double Cast Performances, April 18

Tucson, AZ – Prepare to be spellbound as Pima Theater presents “The Addams Family - A New Musical,” a darkly delightful journey that embraces the quirks of every family. This enchanting production, featuring an original story by Marshall Brickman and mesmerizing music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, is set to captivate audiences from April 18-28.

Under the direction of Jose “Chach” Snook and choreographed by Simone Jolivet, with music direction by Matt Holter, this rendition of “The Addams Family” promises to be a unique and unforgettable experience, thanks to the exceptional talent of two incredibly gifted casts. Audiences will have the opportunity to witness the magic unfold through the dynamic performances of the ITT Cast and the THING Cast, ensuring a fresh and exhilarating experience as they alternate shows. Plus, to add a little more flair, this production will feature a “Spanglish” script that fuses a bit of the Spanish into the English script.

“The way these actors have brought these characters to life has been an absolute joy to witness,” says Snook. “The amount of hours spent in and out of rehearsal shines through each and every performance. And the production crew has been hard at work developing aspects of the show that will make this production next level.

“It has been an absolute joy and honor to work with these students and to guide them through this journey. This show is not to be missed and come see both casts, you’ll be glad you did!”

In this comically heartwarming tale, audiences will witness the timeless tale of Wednesday Addams’ unexpected romance with a “normal” young man, throwing the Addams household into delightful disarray.

Director Snook leads a talented cast, with each bringing their own flair to such iconic characters as Gomez, Morticia and the enigmatic Wednesday. Jolivet, the choreographer, infuses the production with electrifying dance sequences that elevate the storytelling to new heights, while music director Holter ensures that every note resonates with the audience.
