Pima Research Symposium April 30

Former Pima Field Archaeology student Geneva Karr is the keynote speaker for the 2022 Arizona Undergraduate Research Symposium at Pima.

Karr will discuss her work on tree-ring dating and lumber sourcing at Chaco Culture National Historical Park, where she also worked as a visitor center and interpretation assistant. She is a laboratory supervisor at Desert Archaeology, Inc.

This is the only forum in Arizona for undergraduate students, including from the University of Arizona, to present their original research. Other topics that more than one dozen students will present on include:

  • Of gods and men, and the endless paths they tread
  • Border History
  • Youth Activism in Border Communities
  • Tohono O’odham Historical Trauma and Healing Practices

Some presentations will be a mix of recorded videos and in-person talks.
