If you love animals, are interested in science, and want to make a positive impact on others’ lives, Pima’s Veterinary Technology program can help you turn your passions into a rewarding career. Veterinary technicians (veterinary nurses) support animals and the doctors in every aspect of clinical practice. This includes surgery and anesthesia, taking x-rays, venipuncture, running lab tests, critical care and more. Vet techs are essential to ensure that animals are comfortable and well cared for.

At Pima, you’ll gain real-world experience working with all kinds of animals—dogs, cats, horses, goats, cows, birds, rabbits, pocket pets, and even exotic animals. You’ll build hands-on skills in diagnostics, patient care, surgical prep, anesthesia and more. Our hybrid format gives you the flexibility to conduct labs in person while completing coursework online, so you can balance school with work and other responsibilities.

With support from experienced instructors, access to career resources, and job placement assistance, you’ll be ready for a meaningful career helping animals—and the people who love them.

Completing our Veterinary Technology program prepares you for careers in:

  • Small, mixed and large animal practices
  • Specialty and emergency clinics
  • Animal shelters and rescue organizations
  • Zoos, aquariums and wildlife rehabilitation centers
  • Research facilities & more
