Program Admissions Notification
Applicants applying for the Fall 2027 semester will be required to take the National League for Nursing, Nursing Entrance Exam (NEX).

Practical Nursing Preparatory Coursework
Before enrolling in practical nursing coursework, you must complete these preparatory courses:
- Completion of REA 091 with a “C” or better; or Accuplacer NextGen Reading placement into REA 112
- Completion of WRT 090 or 096 or greater with a “C” or better; or Accuplacer WritePlacer placement into WRT 101
- Completion of MAT 092 or MAT 097 or greater with a “C” or better; or Accuplacer NextGen Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra and Statistics, or NextGen Advanced Algebra and Functions placement into MAT 142 or MAT 151
Applying for Program Enrollment
- You must complete program preparatory courses, with grades posted on PCC transcripts, before enrolling in practical nursing coursework. You should attach to your Practical Nurse Application an unofficial transcript with posted grades and/or Accuplacer Individual Score reports.
- Once you complete the preparatory coursework, you can complete the Practical Nurse Application. For the application process, if you are seeking advanced placement in the program, you must provide documentation of a Certified Nursing Assistant or Licensed Nursing Assistant.
- Check your PCC student email for program application information. Make sure to provide your PCC student email address to the Nursing Division.
- If you are not selected for the program, you are encouraged to re-apply at the next application cycle.
