Health Information Technology

Few occupations are changing more quickly than Health Information Technology (HIT). Data that once was collected in pen-and-paper files is now being input via computer and stored in servers.

Health Information Technicians and Medical Billers and Coders form the foundation of this new era. They are responsible for ensuring that data is recorded properly, securely stored, and can be retrieved quickly and accurately, so patients can receive the best-possible care.

You are a good fit for HIT if you are exacting and detail-oriented, and understand the complex rules and systems underlying the profession. Health Information Technicians find employment in doctor’s offices, hospitals and in the healthcare and health insurance industries.
