College Readiness Learning Opportunities

Pima Community College offers new and returning students a number of learning opportunities focused on digital literacy, math, reading, writing and college prep. Scroll through the options to find any that fit your needs.

College Going Computer Skills

The College Readiness & Student Success team wants to help you freshen up your computer skills for college! We provide in-person workshops for students to learn how to navigate a computer in preparation for college success. The half-day workshop provides opportunities to improve your digital literacy, experience the student information portal (MyPima), the online learning system (Brightspace D2L), the Google platform, and the student success network (PimaConnect).

Content Refreshers

Are you interested in upgrading your math, reading, or writing skills? Are you studying to test into a specific program? Do you want to keep up your momentum from the Spring Semester or get extra practice before retaking a class?

The Learning Center Summer Refreshers can help! We offer FREE refresher courses for the following subjects: Writing and Reading, Intermediate Math (ICS081-MAT095), and Advanced Math (MAT 095-MAT142/151).

These are FREE non-credit courses with a chance to win a $300 tuition credit in a drawing upon completion! For questions, contact (520)206-5061.

WRT/REA
  • 7 self-paced modules, fully online instruction available for 5 weeks
  • July 8th - August 8th
  • Join any time, work at your own pace.
  • In person, virtual, and online feedback/tutoring available throughout.
Intermediate Math (ICS081 - MAT 095)
  • 8 day, 2 hour virtual instruction
  • July 8th - 18th
  • Monday -Thursday 5-7pm
  • In person, virtual, and online feedback/tutoring available throughout.
Advanced Math (MAT095 - MAT142/151)
  • 8 day, 2 hour virtual instruction
  • July 29th - August 8th
  • Monday -Thursday 5-7pm
  • In person, virtual, and online feedback/tutoring available throughout.

 

Summer College Prep

Level up in math and complete a STU class in 4 weeks! The College Readiness & Student Success team offers a learning experience specifically designed for new college students. The sessions provide an opportunity for students to begin the fall semester in a higher level math. This saves you time and money! The college's success coaches and faculty will have you primed for success after completing the program. Get excited to move forward in your math goals!
