Enrollment growth continues at PCC as Spring classes begin

Pima Community College’s (PCC) spring headcount is up more than 3% compared to the same period last year, extending the College’s growth streak to 11 consecutive semesters. Spring classes began today, January 15, 2026, at all five campuses.

First-day spring headcount, which represents the number of individual students enrolled, totaled 17,404, up 3.4% from the same time last year. Credit enrollment, which measures the total number of courses students are taking, reached 52,005, an increase of 5.05% over last spring.

PCC is experiencing enrollment growth across most program areas, including a more than 7% increase in STEM and science headcount since spring 2025, thanks in part to new, state-of-the-art labs, upgraded learning technology, and smaller class sizes that help students feel supported and connected to their instructors.

“The growing interest in STEM at Pima reflects students' recognition that today's scientific challenges require interdisciplinary thinking,” said Dr. Nick Valverde, Physics Faculty at PCC. “Students consistently tell me these smaller environments, where we can explore challenging topics beyond the curriculum, remind them why they're passionate about science and prepare them to succeed at four-year institutions and beyond.”

Although the 16-week spring semester has already begun, students still have opportunities to enroll at PCC. Registration for 14-week classes remains open through January 29, 2026, and students can register for 8-week classes through March 22, 2026. For more information or to register, visit www.pima.edu
