PCC ABECC is partnering with the Coalition on Adult Basic Education (COABE) and the Arizona Association for Lifelong Learning (AALL) to celebrate National Adult Education and Family Literacy Week, September 19-25, 2021. This is the second year that PCC has hosted HSE Graduation during National Adult Education and Family Literacy Week. However, this is the first year that City of Tucson Mayor Regina Romero has issued a proclamation making it Adult Education and Literacy Week in Tucson as well.

To recognize the accomplishments of adult education students, Pima Community College will showcase student success stories from PCC ABECC, PCC Refugee Education Program (REP), and other students around Arizona on ABECC social media:

Adult education programs in Tucson and across the nation serve adults who need to improve their basic literacy and math skills, improve their oral and written English, obtain a high school equivalency diploma, and prepare for postsecondary education or training.

PCC’s Adult Basic Education program provides basic skills instruction in reading, writing, math and English, high school equivalency preparation, Refugee Education, English language instruction, and Integrated Basic Education and Skills Training (IBEST) serving thousands of students every year.
