Medical Assistant

Medical assistants are the cogs that make a physician’s office run smoothly. At Pima, master the skills needed to work in a physician’s office or clinic providing assistance to a physician or physicians in office/clerical work and patient treatment. Students will learn about patient care and medical coding/billing. The program includes back-office and front-office externships.

Men and women entering the field are likely to find a growing demand for their services and abundant opportunities for advancement in the years to come as medical assisting is one of the nation’s fastest growing careers. The U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics projects job growth in medical assisting will increase 23 percent by 2024
