Launch your career as a Medical Records Specialist with PimaFastTrack's fully online Electronic Health Records program. Taught by industry-experienced instructors, this program helps you build practical, job-ready skills from anywhere.
You will learn how to manage a patient’s complete medical record, both on paper and in Electronic Medical Records (EMRs). This includes organizing information, checking it for accuracy, and making sure everything is complete and processed correctly. Unlike medical coders and billers, who focus mostly on payments and insurance, Medical Records Specialists handle the entire patient file. You may also support coding and billing tasks, giving you a strong, well-rounded skill set that employers value.
Classes begin on the first of every month, and you can complete the program in four months or less, depending on your pace. When you complete the program, you will be prepared to sit for the Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS) exam. Plus, you can get a head start on Pima’s Health Information Technology degree by earning credit through Prior Learning Assessment, helping you move your career forward even faster.
