If you’re passionate about helping others in critical moments, Pima’s Emergency Medical Technology (EMT) programs can launch you into an impactful career in public safety and healthcare. Our programs prepare you with the knowledge, hands-on skills, and real-world experience to respond to emergencies and save lives.

Start with the EMT certificate to learn core pre-hospital care, from patient assessments and ambulance operations to essential medical procedures. After completing the program, you’ll be eligible to sit for the Arizona and National Registry EMT (NREMT) exams and begin working as an EMT.

Ready to advance further? Continue into Pima’s Paramedic Associate of Applied Science program. You’ll train in advanced life-saving techniques under the guidance of experienced professionals. With this degree, you’ll be prepared to take the NREMT Paramedic exam and step into high-demand roles as a nationally registered paramedic.

Completing our EMT program prepares you for careers in:

  • Emergency medical services (EMS) with private or public agencies
  • Fire departments or rescue units
  • Hospitals and trauma centers
  • Ambulance and patient transport services
  • Public safety or disaster response organizations and more

Pima’s Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program has an impressive 81% pass rate on the national certification exam (NREMT). Our grads land jobs with local hospitals, fire departments, and companies like AMR, and many go on to continue their training in Paramedicine, Fire Science, or Nursing.

At Pima, our programs are designed to help you build your skills as you go. Start with foundational certificates and advance to higher-level certificates and a two-year degree, all while gaining the hands-on experience needed for in-demand careers.

Gain hands-on experience in skills like managing airways, administering medications and providing care to a variety of medical and trauma-related emergencies as an extension of an emergency room physician. This practical training prepares you for the fast-paced world of paramedicine and also serves as a great stepping stone if you want to continue your education and pursue a Bachelor of Applied Science.
