Financial Aid Handbook
The role of the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships (OFAS) is to assist students in finding financial assistance for educational expenses. There are several types of student financial assistance, including grants, scholarships, work study and loans. Most grant and scholarship programs begin with filing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA www.fafsa.ed.gov). Each student’s financial assistance is different, but the goal is to assist students in identifying financial assistance to help cover direct educational expenses, like tuition and fees, but may also assist with room and board, books and supplies, and transportation.
OFAS goal is to help students and parents navigate the complexities of financial aid. This handbook provides full details about the OFAS processes. Additionally, OFAS website offers short guides and links on a variety of student and parent financial aid topics utilizing video format on Financial Aid TV.
In addition, Pima Community College has financial aid professionals who are available to advise you about the various financial assistance opportunities.
