Build your resume

A strong resume is key to stand out among job applicants. Resumes are a professional introduction to who you are and your applicable skills for the job you want. Use these resume-building resources to get started:

  • Arizona Career Information System (AZCIS): Career planning information for Arizona residents. Note: You must log in for the first time from a campus computer.
  • Start a Resume: Use this quick guide to create a resume within the AZCIS system.
  • Resume Guide: Career Services at Pima has created this step-by-step guide to crafting your first resume.

Find an internship

Once you have a resume, you can look for internships. Internships allow you to gain experience while still in school and allow you to build your professional network. Some internships may even count for college credit.

To help you find an internship, we’ve rounded up some helpful resources.

Job search

If you are nearing graduation, search for a full-time job on MyCareerLink. Browse job openings from local employers who want to hire Pima students, new graduates, and alumni. MyCareerLink contains over five million national employers, along with job search tools and resources.

To access MyCareerLink, log into MyPima and click on the Student Resources tab. You can also learn more about job searching tools available to Pima students.

Tip: As you search for a job, take a look at your social media. Many employers look up your Facebook, Instagram, and other social profiles to learn more about you. We’ve put together a list of social media do’s and don'ts to help you create a positive online presence.
