Adventure - The Southwest

Ready for Adventure! You will find it here through the exploration of history, nature, science and other topics and visits to popular Southwest attractions and landmarks through our Discovering the Southwest program. 

Most of the van tours leave from Community Campus parking lot and include:

  • A cooler to stow your lunch
  • Entrance fees to museums/monuments and other
  • Transportation
  • An expert and experiienced tour leader

Come Prepared: Wear appropriate and comfortable hiking shoes or boots for van tours (may include walking and optional short hikes). Some van tours do include walking on uneven surfaces. Trekking poles may be useful. Wear layers of clothing, sun protection and bring water, snacks and lunch.

Other Adventure Activities: While you are building an appreciation for the Southwest, learn the Spanish language, improve your desert photography skills, calm yourself with soothing sounds of a Native American flute, take a Rider Education course, learn to build a straw bale house and prepare authentic tamales and other appetizing foods with a Southwest flare!
