Why choose a nationally accredited MLT program?
When choosing an MLT program, it is critical that the program be accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting agency. PCC’s MLT program is nationally accredited through the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS), 8410 West Bryn Mawr, Suite 670, Chicago, IL 60631: (773) 714-8880. www.naacls.org
Only MLT programs accredited by NAACLS can qualify their graduates to sit for the ASCP MLT certifying examination. For additional information, visit www.ascp.org. (Issuance of AAS MLT from PCC is not contingent upon students passing any certification or licensing examination.)
The MLT curriculum emphasizes higher level math and science, as well as critical reasoning skills for proficient formulation of oral and written communication. The course content is designed to prepare our graduates to pass the ASCP certification examination. Since the program inception and accreditation, graduate’s pass rate on the ASCP certification examination is 94%. The pass rate is 100% for graduates since 2009 who have taken the ASCP certification examination within the first year after their graduation.
