Translation and Interpretation Studies

Associate of Arts - Concentration

Develop skills specific to the translation of written documents and the interpretation of oral passages from a source language into a target language. Through a combination of theory and practice, students will gain experience in translating or interpreting in specialty areas such as health care, legal, literary, and business.

Selective Admissions Program: In order to be fully admitted to this program, you must score a minimum of 601 on the Spanish WebCAPE (Computerized Adaptive Placement Test).  See an advisor for details.

What can I do with this concentration?

Career options:  Prepare for a career as a professional translator in government, business and industry

Academic options:  Transfer to the University of Arizona Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, Translation and Interpretation Emphasis or similar program at other universities.
