PCC student magazine No. 1 in U.S. for third straight year

For the third year in a row, PCC’s student publication SandScript Art and Literature magazine has won first place in the Community College Humanities Association’s Literacy Magazine Competition.

Several PCC students also were honored by the association’s Southwest Division for individual works in the 2017 publication:

Poems: Third Place: “Homeless Man,” by Elizabeth Brown; Honorable Mention: “Two Worms,” by Tom Cracovaner.

Short stories: First Place: “Drinking Coca-Cola in Afghanistan,” by Jordan Lee Wilson; Honorable Mention: “Orange Soda,” by Lillie Watson

Creative Nonfiction: Third Place: “Laugh When You Can, Cry When You Must,” by Ken Roseburg

Artwork: Third Place: “Junk City,” by Chelsea Rose Laprevote
