Paid internships for Pima students and alumni

December 16, 2019

Students or alumni seeking to develop leadership skills working for area non-profits, including opportunities at Pima Community College, may qualify for paid 10-month program that combines support for the organization with leadership training.  The program is called Public Allies and is led in Arizona by Arizona State University’s Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation.  The Internships will begin in January or February 2020 and run through November or December.

Participants must be able to work full-time, primarily during the day and will receive a stipend of $13,750 ($1,375 per month).  Upon completion, participants also will receive a $6,000 education award that can be applied toward outstanding federal student loans or new college tuition.

There are four positions at Pima Community College, three will help expand the College’s Dual Enrollment program, which allows high school students to earn high school and college credit at the same time by connecting students and parents with dual enrollment opportunities, and one will help develop a community program to expand Pima’s participation in events across the county.

Other positions are with Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson, Community Food Bank Southern Arizona, CPLC Community Schools, El Rio Santa Cruz Health Center, Greater Tucson Leadership, Local First Arizona, Reid Park Zoo, St. Luke’s Home and Tucson Clean & Beautiful.
