Waitlisting allows you to add yourself to a waitlist for classes that are already filled. You may be registered for a class and waitlisted on a more desired section of that same class. Waitlisting ends when registration ends, the day before each class starts.
Classes included in waitlisting
For the Spring 2019 semester, waitlisting will be included for all sections and subjects.
Once a section is filled and closed, 15 waitlist seats will open and be available to students to add as a waitlist section.
How to sign up
You can add yourself to a waitlist using the PCC course registration system available through MyPima. If a class is full and a waitlist is available you will see “Closed section – waitlist seats available” at which point you can choose “Waitlist” from the drop-down menu. You will not be assessed tuition and fees for waitlisted classes, and being on a waitlist does not guarantee a seat in that section.
Waitlisted classes do not count towards your enrolled hours. If your financial aid required full-time enrollment, be sure you have enrolled in enough credits without counting class you are waitlisted on. Refer to Financial Aid Disbursements for more information.
As other students adjust their schedules and drop sections, this will free-up seats for waitlisted students.
Waitlisted students will be notified in priority order via Pima email and offered the seat. You will have 48 hours to accept or decline the seat.
- To accept the seat, use the registration process to complete your registration for the seat. The seat will be reserved for you for 48 hours after the email notification has been sent. Be sure to drop any duplicate courses you might have previously added first.
- To decline the seat, you do not need to do anything. After 48 hours you will automatically be removed from the waitlist for that section and the next student will be notified.
- If you do not respond with 48 hours, you will be removed from that section’s waitlist and the next student will be notified.
- On the first day of class, the waitlist option will no longer be available and open seats will not be offered to students. You will need to obtain the instructor’s signature as approval to be enrolled in any class after it begins.
