Staff Professional Development Funds Applications for Exempt and Non-Exempt Employees

The Staff Professional Development (SPD) Working Group is accepting Professional Development/Educational Funds applications for fiscal year 2023 (July 1, 2022 - June 30, 2023) for eligible regular full-time nonexempt and exempt staff employees. The application form, as well as all related guidelines and policies, can be found on the Human Resources>>Organizational Effectiveness & Development intranet page. If you have questions, please email pcc-staffprofessionaldevelopment@pima.edu

Essential Workers Housing Fund
Through a new community-based initiative, Pima Community College employees and students may be eligible to receive down payment and closing-cost assistance to help make buying a home more attainable. More information is here. If you have questions, contact dre@tucsonida.org.

Removal of Symantec Endpoint Protection from Personal Devices
Employees who installed Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) on their personal devices under our corporate license must remove it by July 23, when the College’s license expires. The College is removing SEP from College-owned devices; the license requires employees to do likewise with their personal devices. Pima is migrating from SEP to Cisco EDR, which is not appropriate for personal devices. However, this Knowledgebase article not only describes how to remove SEP, but also recommends free antivirus options.

Office 365 Rollout
College IT is doing a phased migration of College workstations from Microsoft Office Professional 2016 to Microsoft Office 365. The College is making the change for many reasons, most notably because Office Professional 2016 is no longer in mainstream support and Office 365 is a perpetually updated version that will not require future major version upgrades. For more information on this upgrade, see the FAQs. As a reminder, active employees and enrolled students also can use Office 365 on up to five of their personally owned computers. Learn more here.

Submit a Pima Story Idea
Submit a story idea to highlight the amazing accomplishments of Pima students, faculty, staff and alumni. Stories submitted may be featured on Pima’s website, social media accounts and other promotional materials. If you have questions, contact Web Systems, websystems@pima.edu.

Pima Shared Governance through AERC
The All-Employee Representative Council (AERC) is a council of Pima employee peers that reviews and helps update policies, and finds solutions to matters affecting work conditions.

To learn more, visit the AERC Intranet Page.

General meetings are open to all employees. You also may submit questions or concerns to any AERC member or via the online comment box.

Pima Employment Opportunities for Internal Candidates
The College values its employees and wants them to advance their careers here. That is why some positions are open only to internal candidates. To view, go to MyPima > Employees > @Work > MyCareerCenter > View Internal Career Site > Search. Part-time staff and adjunct faculty, refer to AP 2.02.01 sections 1.2.3 and 1.2.4 for eligibility.
