Reminder: Fiscal Year-end Deadlines Approaching
The end of Fiscal Year 2021-2022 is approaching. As a reminder to all supervisors: Current temporary, out-of-class, acting and internship jobs will end June 30; volunteers with third-party access and third-party temporary employees’ access also will end June 30. In order to continue these positions/access into the Fiscal Year 2022-2023, submit ePARs by May 20 to ensure the positions will be entered in Banner for a smooth transition.

Supervisors of volunteers and third-party temporary employees: To continue access, please send an email to Annette Gallardo, amgallardo@pima.edu, and Deidra Gloss, dgloss@pima.edu. If you have questions, contact hr@pima.edu.

Biometric Wellness Screenings
Biometric screenings are required for the 2021-2022 Pima Healthy Rewards Program. Schedule your appointment by May 13 for a biometric screening at LabCorp. All employees enrolled in the College’s BCBSAZ medical plans are welcome to participate in this free opportunity to stay on top of your health. The flyer has details.

In-person Graduation Ceremony at Kino Stadium May 18
For 2022, the College is planning its first in-person graduation ceremony since 2019 and its first-ever outdoor ceremony.

Join us at 7 p.m. May 18 at Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium, 2500 E. Ajo Way.

Details are at pima.edu/graduationceremony.

Call for Volunteers - Graduation Ceremony
The Graduation Committee needs volunteers to assist students and guests at the 2022 Graduation Ceremony May 18 at the Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium. If you’re interested in volunteering or if you have questions, please contact the appropriate committee member:

To be a guest usher assisting graduates and visitors: Michael Tulino, mtulino@pima.edu

  • Help ensure attendees find their way to the appropriate seating areas
  • Direct graduates to the check-in area and assist students during the ceremony
  • Ushers are needed from 4:30-9 p.m. (some assignments may be able to leave at 7:15 p.m., if necessary)

To assist with graduate check-in and registration: Emily Ratley, eratley@pima.edu

  • Provide pre-printed reader card to each graduate
  • Direct students to the staging area in preparation for entering the stadium
  • Volunteers are needed from 4:45-7 p.m.

Volunteers Needed for Law Enforcement Phlebotomy Training
The College teaches a concentrated one-week course, training law enforcement officers to perform blood draws for DUI investigations. After the officers develop a level of expertise in performing blood draws on a venipuncture practice arm, they practice drawing blood on other students in the classroom and, under the direct and close supervision of Phlebotomy faculty, from other volunteers. Volunteer opportunities are available 8 a.m.-5 p.m. June 15 and 16, and 8 a.m.-noon June 17. If you would like to volunteer to participate or have questions, contact Amee Rosales, amrosales2@pima.edu, or Rita Lennon, rlennon1@pima.edu.

Google Workspace Backup and Recovery
The College has contracted with Afi Technologies to back up Google Workspace data for Pima employees. Afi automates backups and provides self-service access to easily restore or download your data. This service backs up your Google mail, drive, contacts and calendar data three times a day. Afi also provides a simple Web service interface that you can use to recover your data at any time. Backups for almost a year are available. Learn more here.

Office 365 Rollout
On May 23, IT will begin a phased migration on College workstations from Microsoft Office Professional 2016 to Microsoft Office 365. There are several reasons for this change, most notably that Office Professional 2016 is no longer in mainstream support and Office 365 is a perpetually updated version that does not require major version upgrades in the future. For more information on this upgrade, see the FAQs. As a reminder, active employees and enrolled students can also use Office 365 on up to five of their personally owned computers. Learn more here.

Submit a Pima Story Idea
Submit a story idea to highlight the amazing accomplishments of Pima students, faculty, staff and alumni. Stories submitted may be featured on Pima’s website, social media accounts and other promotional materials. If you have questions, contact Web Systems, websystems@pima.edu.

Pima Shared Governance through AERC
The All-Employee Representative Council (AERC) is a council of Pima employee peers that reviews and helps update policies, and finds solutions to matters affecting work conditions.

To learn more, visit the AERC Intranet Page.

General meetings are open to all employees. You also may submit questions or concerns to any AERC member or via the online comment box.

Pima Employment Opportunities for Internal Candidates
The College values its employees and wants them to advance their careers here. That is why some positions are open only to internal candidates. To view, go to MyPima > Employees > @Work > MyCareerCenter > View Internal Career Site > Search. Part-time staff and adjunct faculty, refer to AP 2.02.01 sections 1.2.3 and 1.2.4 for eligibility.
