A Note to @PimaNews Readers

Because of the COVID-19 crisis, @PimaNews is highlighting recent COVID-19-related policy and procedure changes. These will be revised and updated as the situation warrants. College leadership is committed to communicating with employees early and often during this uncertain time. However, they realize that the amount of information and details sometimes can be overwhelming.

College Updates

Info for Students, Employees and Community on Pima’s COVID-19 Web Page
The latest information and employee notices at pima.edu/covid19 include a link to FAQs about the self-reporting requirement under the temporary COVID-19 personnel policies, plus a link the Employee Handbook.

Chancellor Lee D. Lambert no longer is sending daily COVID-19 updates to employees, but all of his employee communications are online.

Also at pima.edu/covid19 are Student Notices. Employees and students should regularly check their College email.

Pima Employment Opportunities for Internal Candidates
Pima values its employees and wants them to advance their careers at the College, which is why there are positions open only to internal candidates. To view, go to MyCareerCenter > Internal Jobs (a menu on the top banner) > Career Center > Explore Open Jobs > Search. Or, follow this link > Explore Open Jobs > Search. Part-time staff or adjunct faculty, refer to AP 2.02.01 sections 1.2.3 and 1.2.4 for eligibility.

Draft Administrative Procedures
The review and comment period has been extended until tomorrow for Draft Administrative Procedures. AP 2.03.01: Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation – Prevention and Complaint Procedures

The interim revised discrimination and harassment AP contains the College’s new Title IX policy.  Per the U.S. Department of Education, the College posted it (as an interim policy) earlier this month. The document is currently on pima.edu under draft policies, and has been renumbered and replaces AP 5.10.03.

ABECC High School Equivalency Graduation Tonight on YouTube
The College’s Adult Basic Education for College and Career High School Equivalency graduation ceremony for 2020 is virtual at 7 tonight on the PCCTV YouTube Channel.

Faces of First Year Graduation
Employees and students are invited attend the Faces of First Year featuring Graduation at 1:30 p.m., tomorrow. Join live on YouTube (@PimaStudentEngagement). Meet the faces behind this important resource for Pima’s First Year students. Chat with staff, peer mentors and fellow students who are part of the program. Ask them questions and learn why their online/campus support matters to our new students.

Faculty Services and Resource Centers Available Virtually
Campus staff from the Faculty Resource centers and Campus Resource centers are available to assist you. Faculty services and resource centers also have new contact information, Faculty-Services@pima.edu and 520-206-6511.

Donate Annual or Sick Leave to Pool
Consider helping your colleagues by donating your excess sick or annual leave to the College’s Donated Leave Bank. Donation limits apply. Your donations will help support Pima employees who are out due to an FMLA-qualifying reason. Donations are anonymous and cannot be returned to the donor. Only the period of medical and parental FMLA that is supported by medical certification is eligible for donated leave.
