A Note to @PimaNews Readers

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, until further notice, @PimaNews will focus on recent COVID-19-related policy and procedure changes most affecting employees. These will be revised and updated as the situation warrants.

College Updates

Info for Students, Employees and Community on Pima’s COVID-19 Web Page
The latest information and employee notices at pima.edu/covid19 include a link to FAQs about the self-reporting requirement under the temporary COVID-19 personnel policies, plus a link the Employee Handbook.

College leadership is committed to communicate with you early and often during this uncertain time. However, they realize all of that information and details sometimes can be overwhelming. Chancellor Lee Lambert no longer is sending daily updates, but you can get the most current information on the COVID-19 pandemic’s impact on the College at pima.edu/covid19, which also has a Student Notices page. Also, regularly check your College email.

Car Show Donation to Pima Community College
The Tucson Street Rod Association (TSRA) Rodders Day Car Show for 2020 was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but that didn’t stop TSRA and its sponsors from making a donation to Pima Community College this year.

TSRA presented a check of $4,750 on Sept. 16 to the Pima Community College Foundation, bringing its total donations to the College over the last three years to $15,000. And mark your calendars: the next TSRA Rodders Day Car Show is set for April 24, 2021, at the Downtown Campus. The event is free and open the public.

“Our sponsors really believe in our mission of supporting Pima’s Applied Technology programs and producing more graduates in the hands-on trades. So, when the car show was cancelled, our major sponsors chose to donate their sponsorship fees for 2020 to the College rather than get a refund,” said Gary Scheer, vice president of TSRA.

Pima Employment Opportunities for Internal Candidates
Pima values its employees and wants them to advance their careers right here, which is why there are positions open only to internal candidates. To view, go to MyCareerCenter > Internal Jobs (a menu on the top banner) > Career Center > Explore Open Jobs > Search. Draft Administrative Procedures
The review and comment period has been extended until Sept. 25 for

Draft Administrative Procedures. AP 2.03.01: Djcrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation – Prevention and Complaint Procedures

The interim revised discrimination and harassment AP contains the College's new Title IX policy.  Per the U.S. Department of Education, the College posted it (as an interim policy) earlier this month. The document is currently on pima.edu under draft policies and has been renumbered and replaces AP 5.10.03.
