Softball

The Aztecs softball program has seen a great deal of success over the last eleven years, including a pair of national championships (2004, 2006). The program closed out 2011 with a record of 51-14, a #9 ranking on the NJCAA final poll, an ACCAC runner-up and Region 1 Tournament runner-up.

2011 individual highlights included six All-ACCAC awards, an NJCAA All-American, 1st Team, effort by frosh pitcher Marina Contreras and both Contreras (2nd Team) and frosh IF/OF Jessica Schneider (1st Team) earned NFCA All-American nods.

At the 2012 NJCAA Division 1 Softball World Series the team placed fourth and earned a third place finish in 2013.

Former Aztecs have gone on to play at four-year schools all across the country, including NCAA Div. I, II, and NAIA programs.

OPEN TRYOUTS FOR 2015-2016 SEASON:

Pima Softball will be having Tryouts on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at the Pima West Campus Softball Field, 2202 W. Anklam Rd, Tucson AZ.  Registration will be fom 9:00 AM-9:30 AM and Tryouts will conclude at 12:00 PM.  All athletes must bring a copy of their physical obtained after August 16, 2014 to be reviewed prior to participation.  If you do not have a copy of your physical, please have your physician complete the Pre-Participation Physical.  All physicals must be brought to Pima's Athletic Trainers at the West Campus FSSC Building no later than Friday, August 7th, for review.  A non-refundable $25 cash only registration payment must be brought to the Tryout.  All athletes must also bring their completed Player Information Form  and Consent Form.  For athletes under the age of 18, a parent/guardian must sign the Parental Consent Form, which also must be brought to the Tryout.  Please come with you own gloves, cleats, bats and water bottle.
