PCC Men’s Basketball Falls Against Phoenix College

 Tucson, AZ – The Pima Community College men’s basketball team (6-7, 1-5 in conference) was able to cut into Phoenix College’s double digit lead on a few occasions in the second half but the Aztecs fell in the end 93-78 on Saturday at the West Campus. Phoenix led at halftime 48-34.

The Aztecs cut Phoenix’s lead to seven on a couple of occasions. Ravontae Kight (Craigmont HS, TN) had a 3-point play which cut the lead to 69-62 and later Mike Jones (Verrado HS) had a three-point play of his own which made it 72-65 at that point. That was as close as the Aztecs would get.

The Aztecs had four players score in double figures with Lawrence Pierce (Peoria HS) leading the way with 15 points. Terrence Carroll (Cordova HS, TN) finished the game with 13 points while Jones had 12 points and four rebounds. Marcus Mears (Buena HS) contributed with 10 points and four rebounds.

The Aztecs are off until Saturday, Dec. 29 when they host Tierra del Sol at the West Campus. The game will start at 7:30 p.m.
