Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the Political Science pathway, AA degree program, the learner will be able to:

1. Understand the 3 branches of American Government (Legislative/Congress, Executive/President, Judicial/Courts).
2. Distinguish between Unitary, Federal, and Confederal Systems.
3. Recognize key theories in International Relations (Liberal Idealist and Realist).
4. Distinguish between different types of government (Constitutional Democracy, Authoritarian, and Totalitarian).
5. Differentiate Presidential from Parliamentary systems.
6. Identify key Political Philosophers.
