How to Add, Drop or Withdraw from a Class

Adding, dropping or withdrawing may affect financial aid, veterans' benefits, international student status, academic standing or athletic eligibility. See an advisor, counselor or the appropriate department for assistance before making changes.

Continuing and Returning Students

New Students

Registration Transaction forms are available online, at all campus and district Admissions Offices, at the Northeast and Southeast Community Learning Centers, and at Davis Monthan Air Force Base.

Add Deadlines

See Dates and Deadlines for add deadlines. Some courses may also require special permission.

After the add deadline, you may still add a course if you fill out a Registration Transaction Form and obtain the instructor's signature. Return the form to any campus Admissions Office.

You do not need a signature to add shorter, non-traditional classes with later starting dates.

Open Entry/Open Exit classes may be added any time.

You will be charged an additional fee if an added class includes a course fee or if you add a class after the refund deadline.

Drop/Refund Deadlines

You must drop a class before the official refund deadline to receive a refund. See our Refund Policy for details.

After the refund deadline, you will not receive a refund and may be financially liable for tuition and fees.

Pima College reserves the right to drop unpaid registrations. Dropping unwanted classes remains the student's responsibility, however.

Withdrawing from Classes

For the deadline to withdraw from a regular 16-week semester class, see Dates and Deadlines. For all other classes, the withdrawal deadline is two thirds of the way between the first class session and the last.

You will not receive a refund of you withdraw.

You will receive a grade of "W" (official withdrawal) on your academic record.

If you do not follow the withdrawal procedure, you may receive a failing grade.
