Post-Degree Teacher Certification Program Redesign
The Pima Community College Post-Degree Teacher Certification Program (Elementary, Secondary, and Cross-Categorical) is being redesigned to incorporate new requirements from the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) and the U.S. Department of Education. The redesigned program will begin in Spring 2014. Current program courses will be phased out from Spring 2013 through Spring 2015 as shown in the timeline below. Courses in the current program may not transfer into the redesigned program.
The Post-Degree Program will continue to work closely with Arizona schools to meet their needs during this transition period.
Important phase-out information:
- Current and returning students must meet with a program advisor to ensure sufficient time for program completion and receive an individualized completion plan and a 2013-2015 Program Phase-Out Course Availability Schedule. Please call 520-206-6408 to schedule an appointment with a program advisor
- Prospective students must have already attended a program orientation on or after January 5, 2012 in order to enter the current program by the August 15, 2013 cut-off date.

Phase-Out Timeline for the Current PCC Post-Degree Teacher Certification Program

The official “phase-out” for the current program begins in Spring 2013. Foundation and methods courses and student teaching will be available in the semesters and sessions as shown on the 2013-2015 Program Phase-Out Course Availability Schedule available from the Teacher Education Office (520-206-6566) or Teacher Certification Program advisors at Community Campus (520-206-6408). |
