PCC Spring Sports Mar. 11 – 17

The spring sports at Pima Community College continue regular season competition. The baseball team will make up an earlier doubleheader and then will participate in the Jack Howell Classic held at the West Campus while the softball team plays at home and then travels for a tournament to close out the week. The track & field teams will compete at the University of Arizona. The women’s golf team will be on the road for a tournament while the women’s tennis team travels to California.
The women’s golf team opens the week for a two-day tournament in Cave Creek at the Legend at Arrowhead Golf Course hosted by Paradise Valley Community College. The Aztecs tee off at noon on Monday and Tuesday.
The baseball team will host Paradise Valley Community College on Tuesday with the first game of the doubleheader starting at noon. The softball team will host Chandler-Gilbert Community College for a doubleheader on Tuesday at the West Campus. The first game begins at 1 p.m.
The women’s tennis team begins its California trip at Glendale College (Calif.) on Monday. On Tuesday, it plays at Orange County Community College and finishes on Wednesday at Ventura College.
The Jack Howell Classic will begin on Wednesday at the West Campus. The Aztecs open the tournament against Greys Harbor College (WA.) on Wednesday at 3:45 p.m. On Thursday, the Aztecs play Douglas College (B.C.) at 3:45 p.m. and then host Miles Community College (MT.) at 8 a.m. followed by GateWay Community College at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. All are single games; no doubleheaders. On Wednesday, the first game at the West Campus starts at 10:35 a.m. From Thursday through Saturday, games begin at 8 a.m.
The softball team will travel to Casa Grande to compete in the Deanna Mauer Classic held at the Paul Mason Sports Complex. The Aztecs will play single games against Howard College (TX.) at 1 p.m. and Illinois Central College at 3 p.m. on Friday. On Saturday, the Aztecs play Clackamus Community College (OR.) at 9 a.m. and Odessa College (TX.) at 1 p.m.
The track & field teams will be out at the University of Arizona on Friday and Saturday for the Willie Williams Invitational. Competition begins on Friday at 4 p.m. and Saturday at 10 a.m.
