February 1, 2013

The Pima Community College Governing Board will meet Tuesday, Feb. 5 to discuss the search for a new chancellor.

When: Feb. 5 at 7 p.m.
Where: PCC Community Campus
Room A109-112
401 N. Bonita Ave. [View map]

Dr. Brenda B. Even and David Longoria, co-chairs of a citizens’ Search Advisory Committee assisting the Board, notified College employees about the Board of Governors meeting in a College-wide message Jan. 31.

Their message noted that the chancellor search was being put on hold “because of concerns that have arisen regarding one of the finalists.” The finalist in question, Dr. María C. Sheehan, president of Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno, Nev., notified the College Feb. 1 that she is withdrawing from consideration.

The Tucson Sentinel, a local online news organization, today published an article on the issue.

The complete text of the message is available on the Chancellor Search page of the College website. The page includes other information on the process.

See PCC’s Meeting Notices webpage for more information and resources about Governing Board meetings.
