PCC Hosts Truck Driver Training Program Open House, March 22

Tucson, AZ – Thinking about hitting the open road as a commercial truck driver?  If so, you would be entering a career with excellent job prospects in the years ahead.

See what it takes to get behind the wheel of a big rig at Pima Community College’s Truck Driver Training Program Open House on Friday, March 22, 2013.

Those attending the event will learn about a career in an industry full of possibilities. The open house will include a tour of the facility and information on the Truck Driver Training Program, admission requirements and financial assistance options.

Visitors also will get a chance to meet PCC’s experienced instructors and national and regional trucking couriers. The open house is free and open to the public, but RSVPs are encouraged. Call 206-2744 to get started.

According to recent news reports, the demand for truck drivers shot up 20 percent between 2012 and 2013. A significant shortage of truck drivers is expected to persist through the next decade.

PCC’s truck driver training program has been the focus of recent stories in the Arizona Daily Star, Aztec Press and on KOLD and KGUN.
