Tucson, AZ -- Pima Community College Music presents a concert featuring vocal music faculty Jonathan Ng, tenor. The program features art songs by Beethoven, “Bel Canto” repertoire from Handel’s oratorios and operas, and music by Renaissance composers performed by male quartet.
Joining Dr. Ng, countertenor, in the male quartet are Jose “Chach” Snook, countertenor; Stephen Warner, tenor; and Darryl King, bass. The recital also includes performers Krista Flora, soprano, and Suzanne Eanes, pianist.
Ng received his Doctorate in Conducting with minors in vocal performance and pedagogy, music history and literature from Indiana University, Jacob School of Music, Bloomington. He earned his master’s degree in conducting and church music from Westminster Choir College, and bachelor’s degree in education from the Institute of Education in Hong Kong. Besides conducting choruses and orchestras, Dr. Ng is a professional lyric tenor and has appeared in various oratorios and operas throughout the states, Europe and Hong Kong. He is currently the director of Pima Community College Chorale and College Singers, where he also teaches studio voice. Dr. Ng is also the founder and conductor of The Arizona Choral Society and the director of music at Catalina United Methodist Church, Tucson.
