Rep. Grijalva to Speak at “Project Hoodie” June 14; PCC Hosting NAACP-Sponsored Dialogue

Tucson, AZ – U.S. Rep Raúl Grijalva will kick off “Project Hoodie: A Tucson Conversation on Race” tomorrow at Pima Community College’s Downtown Campus.

The event, sponsored by the local chapter of the NAACP, is an opportunity for the community to engage in a constructive discussion about issues raised by the shooting of Trayvon Martin in Florida earlier this year.

The public is invited to participate in a dialogue guided by facilitator-led questions.

Seating for “Project Hoodie” is limited. There are no RSVPs. Doors open at 8 a.m.

Rep. Grijalva will provide opening remarks at the event, which will be moderated by Maria Moore, program director of African-American Student Affairs at the University of Arizona.
