College’s new webpage will keep public informed about chancellor search
Tucson, AZ – The Pima Community College webpage aimed at keeping the public informed about the national search for a new chancellor is now live.
The page – www.pima.edu/chancellorsearch – features recently issued requirements for an executive-search firm PCC intends to hire to ensure the best pool of candidates for the job.
PCC’s Request for Proposals specifies duties the search firm will be asked to perform – identifying a diverse group of candidates, checking the background and credentials of all finalists, and possibly assisting in contract negotiations with finalists.
The College will accept proposals from firms through May 30.
The webpage is an online clearinghouse for information related to the chancellor search. It will include updates, documents related to the search, answers to frequently asked questions, and other resources.
The webpage also includes an email address – ChancellorSearch@pima.edu – for the public to share their comments, suggestions and ideas.
“Pima Community College is committed to making sure the chancellor search is as transparent as possible and to engage the public at every step of the way,” said Vice Chancellor for Public Information and Government Relations C.J. Karamargin.
The Governing Board intends to hold a public meeting in June to hear presentations from search-firm finalists and is hopeful a firm can be hired by July 1. The process for finding a new chancellor is expected to last about a year.
The next Governing Board meeting is 7 p.m., Wednesday May 16 at PCC’s East Campus, 8181 East Irvington Road.
