Tucson, AZ -- Pima Community College Music presents an interdisciplinary faculty cello recital featuring Theodore Buchholz, "Music with Art: Suites for Unaccompanied Cello." Program selections include “Suite 1” by J.S. Bach featuring the photography of Kate Breakey, “Fantasy on Two Klee Studies” by Augusta Read Thomas, and “Gallery” by Robert Muczynski featuring the paintings of Charles E. Burchfield.

According to Buchholz, “Visual art and music are manifestations of human expression beyond language. Compositions of color, shape, texture and line; like compositions of tone, rhythm and harmony; are different distillation of the same thing -- the human spirit's need to touch the soul, to stimulate our senses and to communicate without words. It is not surprising that they have evolved together, influencing each other throughout history. Music is written about works of art and paintings and sculpture have been inspired by music. This recital was conceived out of a desire to create a unique experience for the eyes and ears of the audience, by bringing music and art together and letting them speak to one another.”
