PCC to Offer Business Boot Camp and Entrepreneurship Training

January 17, 2012

Tucson, AZ – An Entrepreneurship Boot Camp beginning Jan. 21 is part of the cutting-edge training in entrepreneurship and small business management offered by Pima Community College.

The series of workshops provide comprehensive and invaluable insight into all aspects faced by new and developing business owners.  “The workshops are designed to give the participants the tools necessary to start and grown a successful company," said Stan Steinman, Academic Dean of Workforce & Business Development.

The workshops are supported by a U.S. Small Business Administration grant which U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords advocated for in the Congress. “As a former small business owner, Congresswoman Giffords knows what it takes to succeed,” Steinman said. “She was very instrumental in finding a way for the College to provide educational training on all aspects of entrepreneurship to residents of Pima County who want to start a small business or who own a business but could benefit from the training.”

PCC offers an Entrepreneurship Academy, free of charge, and a fee-based Entrepreneurship Boot Camp.  All courses are taught by instructors who have experience in starting and/ or managing their own business.

The first Boot Camp course begins Jan. 21.  The workshops run through June 2012. Call (520) 206-6468 to register.  For more information, email workforce@pima.edu or go to pima.edu/business/customtraining and click on Entrepreneurship Boot Camp.
