See PCC Student Photographers’ Work at Tucson Botanical Gardens
November 22, 2011
Tucson, AZ – “Arizona Centennial: Pima Celebrates,” an exhibition of 93 images by 14 Pima Community College photography students, will be on display in the Porter Hall Gallery of the Tucson Botanical Gardens through Wednesday, Nov. 30.
“The exhibit is a birthday card to the state,” says Ann Simmons-Myers, PCC Visual Arts instructor, who selected images of people and places inspired by Tucson and Southern Arizona for the exhibit, which commemorates the state’s 100th birthday on Feb. 14, 2012.
The exhibit’s photos were created with a variety of processes – everything from digital photography to the gum-dichromate and salt paper processes of the 19th century.
There is no admission to the Porter Hall Gallery. The exhibit is open from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. daily except Thanksgiving Day at the Botanical Gardens, 2150 N. Alvernon Way.
