October 14, 2011
Tucson, AZ – Chef Elizabeth Mikesell, Culinary Instructor for the Center for Training and Development at Pima Community College, is Kitchen Stadium Coordinator for Tucson Meet Yourself, today through Sunday, Oct. 14-16.
Kitchen Stadium is a fully equipped outdoor kitchen located on the Tucson Convention Center Plaza, 260 S. Church St.
Mikesell is coordinating the TMY Iron Chef and TMY Pro Iron Chef competitions, which both follow the format of the Japanese “Iron Chef” TV competition.

Teams will have 60 minutes to prepare a two-course meal of one salad or appetizer and one entrée, including a starch or vegetable. Teams will be assigned an ethnic or cultural culinary theme. Menus will be judged on presentation, nutrition value, taste, texture and reflection of cultural heritage theme.
The TMY Iron Chef Pro Competition has two events. In one, Maria Mazon, Executive Chef and owner of Boca, faces Tamara Stempel, Executive Chef of Oro Valley Country Club. In the other, defending champion Ryan Clark, Executive Chef of Lodge on the Desert, faces Albert Hall, Executive Chef and Owner of Acacia.
