PCC’s Motorcycle Rider Program Moves to a New, Larger Motorcycle Range

January 25, 2011

Tucson, AZ – Pima Community College Continuing Education received authorization from the Department of Motor Vehicle and the Motorcycle Safety Foundation to relocate the Motorcycle Rider classes to a larger range at PCC’s West Campus.

“This larger range allows advanced and experienced riders to test and upgrade their skills.  It will be well received throughout the motorcycle community,” PCC instructor Missy Blair said.

PCC's Motorcycle Rider Safety Education program is a recipient of the Community Safety Leadership Award from the American Society of Safety Engineers.  The classes are taught by nationally certified professionals using the Motorcycle Safety Foundation curriculum.

Since 1977, PCC has provided motorcycle training courses to thousands of riders of all skill levels. On average, the program trains 650 entry-level riders each year with approximately 90% passing the state licensing test.  Riders who enroll in the courses learn ways to reduce risk, avoid crashes and improve critical skills necessary for survival on the street.

Four courses are offered:  the Basic RiderCourseTM, Absolute Beginner Course, Experienced RiderCourseTM and an Advanced RiderCourseTM.  Courses at the new range are currently in progress.  The Continuing Education schedule can be found online.  For more information, e-mail motorcycleridered@pima.edu or call (520) 206-3981.
