Call for Third-Party Comments -- Renewal of Accreditation

Pima Community College’s Dental Hygiene Education, Dental Laboratory Technology and Dental Assisting Education programs are undergoing a comprehensive accreditation site visit April 12-14, 2011, by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation. Pima’s Dental Programs are currently accredited by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation, which is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
The Commission on Dental Accreditation works to maintain the highest professional and ethical standards in the nation’s dental schools and programs by establishing, maintaining and applying standards that ensure the quality and improvement of dental and dental-related education. These standards are meant to reflect the ever-evolving field of dentistry and to help ensure that institutions of learning keep up with advances while maintaining quality educational programs.
Students of Pima Community College’s Dental Hygiene Education, Dental Laboratory Technology and Dental Assisting Education programs are invited to submit comments regarding their program. Patients and students of the Pima Community College’s Dental Hygiene Clinic are invited to submit comments regarding the clinic. Third-party comments can be mailed to:

All comments submitted must relate directly to the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation Standards for Dental Hygiene Education, Dental Laboratory Technology and Dental Assisting Education Programs and/or policies and procedures used in the accreditation process. All comments must be signed and received by January 17, 2011.
The Commission will remove signatures from the submissions prior to forwarding the comments to Pima Community College’s Dental Programs for their review and comment.
